Starting July 27th of this year the Prairie Capital Convention Center is proud to be hosting the 100th Anniversary World Horseshoe Tournament. This is a major event that will bring 1500 horseshoe pitchers and their families from all over the world, to compete for the title of World Champion Horseshoe Pitcher. In conjunction with this event, the Prairie Capital Convention Center is hosting the World Horseshoe Cook-Off on Saturday, August 1st.
This event is FREE and Open to the Public.

Tentative Time Line:

12:00pm Event opens to public
Chefs begin preparing Judge’s Sample
Vending to public begins
12:00pm- 8:00pm: Vending
1:00pm- 3:00pm: Radio Remotes (tentatively)
2:00pm-4:00pm: Judging
3:00pm: Celebrity Horseshoe Game
4:00pm: Winners announced!!!
4:00pm- 8:00pm Celebration Party

This event will be held outdoors, between PCCC and President Abraham Lincoln Hotel on the lawn.

Stay and play all day from noon to 8:00 with live music, celebrity horseshoe pitching, and tons of food from your favorite local restaurants.

Due to limited cooking space, only chefs from restaurants will be able to compete. Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate general public participants.

Horseshoes will be placed and judged in the following categories:

BEST CLASSIC SHOE (something savory)
BEST DESSERT SHOE (something sweet)
BEST BREAKFAST SHOE (mmm… bacon)
“CRAZY HORSE” SHOE (get creative)
BEST OVERALL SHOE (Wow, that’s a good shoe!)

Debbie Ross Band: 1:00pm- 3:00pm,
The Micah Walk Band: 4:00pm- 5:30pm,
The Damwell Betters: 6:00pm- 8:00pm.
